essay in short film format that adopts science fiction codes to narrate
the tribulations of a solitary anarchist in an improbable future society,
marked by inequality and class conflicts.
The work starts with the figure of the writer Andrés Carranque de Ríos and the texts extracted and reassembled from his last novel, Cinematógrafo, published in 1936, few months before his death and the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.
Estikion takes its name from the city of the future that appeared in the lost film Al Hollywood Madrileño (1927) by Nemesio Sobrevila.
Carranque de Ríos starred in this missing film in his brief foray as an actor in the then precarious national film industry.
This audiovisual reconstruction exercise links a castiza -pure- and bizarre science fiction fantasy with Spanish anarchism of the first decades of the 20th century, being developed through basic cinematographic collage and editing techniques, based on filming and material from a wide variety of sources.

tribulaciones de un solitario anarquista en una improbable sociedad del futuro
marcada por la desigualdad y la lucha de clases.
El trabajo realizado parte de la figura del escritor Andrés Carranque de Ríos, y de textos extraídos y reemsamblados de su última novela, Cinematógrafo, publicada en 1936, pocos meses antes de su muerte y del comienzo de la Guerra Civil española.
ESTIKION toma el nombre de la ciudad del futuro que aparecía en la película perdida de Nemesio Sobrevila, Al Hollywood madrileño, de 1927, en la que no existía la enfermedad ni la muerte.
Carranque de Ríos protagonizó esta desaparecida película, en su breve incursión como actor en la por entonces precaria industria cinematográfica nacional.
